This summer we took a little vacation/stay cation to the Grand Canyon before school started. The kids had never ever been so we spent a couple of days there. We even did a day hike part way down. We had a really good time.
Madelyn and Jacob really enjoyed the Imax theatre. Madelyn wants to go white water rafting. She thought that was really cool. 
Jackson thought the hike was really exciting.........
One of the highlights of the trip was the huge elk that was right next to our hotel.
There is lots of wildlife at the canyon. We had a wonderful time!

Sounds like a fun time! I'm really impressed with that you all did the day hike! We've tried a few short hikes around here in UT but the boys get too tired to really make it enjoyable for any of us! LOL! The Grand Canyon is truly a remarkable place to visit!
Looks like fun! Your kids have seen more elk then the so called hunters in the family ;) I miss the pine tress but knowing the palm tress are only for a little while I am enjoying them while I get the opportunity! Love you guys!
Wow! looks like fun! I need to take Jason there sometime. The canyon is great to look at one of Heavenly Fathers creations.
Tell Madelyn that white water rafting is cool. You should take her...in a couple of years. We sure do miss you guys, but glad to see the depression you went through after we left has lifted enough to take a family vacation. just kidding. I do miss you a ton.
